Everything is Personal

San Diego Radio DJ and Politician on Cannabis Policy

Episode Summary

Len and Jon welcome Everything Is Personal editor Tommy Hough to the show, an environmentalist who not only brings several decades' worth of radio experience to his work, but serves as a San Diego County planning commissioner and is running for a seat on San Diego City Council in the upcoming 2022 midterm election. As the first politician on Everything Is Personal, Len checks Tommy's head on matters relating to drug policy, incarceration, and the health and environmental benefits of cannabis. Tommy also makes an attempt to whet Len and Jon's appetite for country music with a set of songs that first tenderized the ears of previous generations of music fans initially adverse to country picking and steel guitars, while Len and Jon discuss the merits and revelations of the new FX and Hulu show Hip Hop Uncovered, and go over a comprehensive list of hip-hop one-hit wonders, with numerous selections guaranteed to rattle memories of MTV videos and beats past. All this plus another edition of Have You Heard featuring a remix of a song by a now-deceased artist who has a posthumous collection of new, remixed, and original songs being released soon, crates of records, "set and setting," and kids from Johnstown with cannabis.
