Everything is Personal

Renaissance Woman Sharmilla Patil on Her Work as a Doctor, Alchemist, D.J., Yogi, and Hockey Player

Episode Summary

This edition of Everything Is Personal will require your getting centered first, and we have just the guest to get you there as Len and Jon welcome Dr. Sharmilla Patil, the founder and CEO of GreenTech Laboratories, a Berkeley-based biopharmaceutical company. With expertise in alternative and plant-based medicine, biotechnology, transformational formulations, and as a yogi, Dr. Patil discusses the three "doshas," or body types, i.e. Vata (air and ether), Pitta (fire), and Kapha (earth and water) that GreenTech's applications ideally bring into a state of "homeostasis," or balance. Len and Jon also consider their lists of New Wave one-hit wonders, and the ability (or not) to appreciate an artist or entertainer even if their professed personal political beliefs or behavior are counter to one's own, or are found to be demonstrably reprehensible. Also, you'll never hear a better, more descriptive phrase of set and setting on Everything Is Personal than "in the Himalayas on top of a beautiful place and there's manala cream presented to me on a silver platter in a temple."
