Everything is Personal

Led Zeppelin, heavy metal, and cannabis for boomers

Episode Summary

Len and Jon welcome long-time marketer and occasional Canadian Jason Turner to this week's edition of Everything Is Personal, who has not only worked for over 25 years with some of the world's biggest companies, but took a sideline into the music business at just the right time to help prepare the release of the Led Zeppelin compilation set Mothership, and got to see the mighty, and momentarily reformed, Led Zeppelin up close and personal at their 2007 concert at the O2 Arena in London. Later, following a terrifying brush with death when he was hit by a drunk driver while riding his bicycle, Jason discusses how he and a friend with similar back pain dilemmas and injuries were faced with surgery options that left them in varying amounts of show-stopping pain. While they found their way to living (almost) pain free with cannabis, they started the on-line Three Wells outlet to help direct others to appropriate and effective cannabis and CBD products to address their ailments and concerns. Jason, Jon, and Len also go deep on their hat-trick fistfuls of Led Zeppelin favorites, lunatic Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts gets the third degree and an invitation to explain himself following his wildly absurd comments about cannabis and marijuana and how decriminalization will harm children, and Len and Jon dissect another list that makes questionable, if curiously tasteful, 1990s heavy rock and metal picks. All this plus a new article on Jon's father, legendary film composer Michael Small, and a selection from the deepest wing of Jon's teenage archives on Have You Heard.
