Everything is Personal

From Motorcycles to Marijuana: George Sadler’s Family Business Accelerates

Episode Summary

With the understanding that "everybody does cannabis," this week's edition of Everything Is Personal comes straight out of Needles as special guest George Sadler joins Len and Jon on location from the banks of the Colorado River to talk about Platinum Vibe, the San Diego-based vape business he owns and operates with his son. Having started off in the cannabis industry during the plant's more illicit days in the gray area between medical and recreational use, Sadler sold several of his beloved motorcycles to invest in his start-up, building it with his family into the leading vape company in Michigan, and by his estimate, the 12th most popular in California. George also shares outrageously true stories of being robbed while working along the front lines of cannabis' Wild West days when he and his family and a handful of drivers were running a not-entirely certified cannabis delivery business, and when one of their stores in Detroit was targeted by police more interested in the contents of their store's safe than what George and his team were selling. Len also talks with George about the need for modern cannabis start-ups to understand the business is not a "get rich quick" scheme, George expresses his amazement at the strides the industry has made, Len expresses his frustration with Clubhouse, and George tries out Len's EndoCanna DNA kit in real time. Also the persistence of the irrational "Reefer Madness" mentality, Len's Russian accent, celebrity shout-outs to Paris Hilton and Jordan Belfort, a nice reference to the Optigrab, the best Gene Simmons story you'll hear this week, and a Have You Heard featuring the late DMX. Also, NFT stands for "Non-Fungible Token."
